1.1 About Madira
Madira Pte. Ltd. (“Madira”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a Singapore-registered company specialising in the import and distribution of premium, non-mainstream wines, beers, and spirits. We supply consumers directly through our website and portal, through online marketplaces including Shopee and Lazada, and through wholesale arrangements with trade buyers. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, portal, and all transactions conducted through any Madira channel.
1.2 Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our website, creating an account, placing an order, or engaging with us through any channel — including our online portal, Shopee, Lazada, or WhatsApp — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use our platform or place any orders with us.
1.3 Age Verification & Alcohol Purchases
The sale of alcohol is regulated under the Liquor Control (Supply and Consumption) Act 2015 of Singapore. All purchases of alcoholic beverages from Madira are strictly subject to the following conditions:
• You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase, receive, or consume alcohol.
• By logging into the Madira website or portal, you confirm that you are at least 18
years of age.
• By placing any order containing alcoholic products, you further confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and that the intended recipient is also at least 18 years of age.• Madira reserves the right to request proof of age at any time, including at the point of delivery. If satisfactory proof cannot be provided, we reserve the right to refuse delivery and no refund shall be issued for orders declined on this basis.
• It is an offence under Singapore law to purchase or attempt to purchase alcohol on behalf of a person under the age of 18.
We take age compliance seriously. Any attempt to circumvent our age verification process will result in immediate cancellation of the relevant order and may result in the permanent suspension of your account.
1.4 Accounts & Registration
To access certain features of the Madira portal, you may be required to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account details updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity conducted through your account. You must notify us immediately at contact@madirasg.com if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.
1.5 Product Information & Availability
We make every effort to ensure that product descriptions, images, vintage details, tasting notes, and prices on our platform are accurate. However, given the artisanal and small-batch nature of the products we curate, minor variations may exist between product descriptions and the physical product, particularly in labels, capsule colours, or bottle formats. Such variations do not constitute grounds for refund or return.
All products are subject to availability. Madira reserves the right to withdraw, substitute, or discontinue any product at any time. In the event that a product you have ordered becomes unavailable after payment, we will contact you promptly and offer a full refund or a suitable substitute of equivalent or greater value, at your election.
1.6 Pricing
All prices displayed on the Madira website and portal are in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and are inclusive of applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST) unless otherwise stated. Prices on third-party marketplaces such as Shopee and Lazada are set independently and may differ from prices on the Madira portal. Madira reserves the right to amend prices at any time without prior notice. The price applicable to your order is the price confirmed at the time of checkout.
1.7 Payment
For retail purchases via the Madira portal and online marketplaces, full payment is required at the time of order. We accept payment methods as displayed at checkout. For B2B and wholesale accounts, payment terms are agreed individually between Madira and the trade buyer and set out in a separate written agreement or purchase order confirmation. In the absence of agreed terms, payment is due upon invoice.
1.8 Order Confirmation
Your order is confirmed only upon receipt of an order confirmation from Madira by email or through the relevant platform. Madira reserves the right to decline or cancel any order at its discretion, including in cases of suspected fraud, pricing errors, or stock unavailability. In such cases, any payment made will be refunded in full.
1.9 Prohibited UseYou agree not to use the Madira platform for any unlawful purpose, including but not limited to purchasing alcohol for supply to persons under 18, resale without appropriate licences, or any activity that violates Singapore law. You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise extract data from our platform without express written permission.
1.10 Intellectual Property
All content on the Madira website and portal — including but not limited to the Madira name, logo, brand assets, product descriptions, images, and written content — is the intellectual property of Madira Pte. Ltd. or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our intellectual property without prior written consent.
1.11 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Singapore law, Madira shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from your use of our platform or products, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of goodwill. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with a transaction shall not exceed the value of the order in question.
1.12 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
1.13 Amendments
Madira reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. The revised Terms will be posted on our website with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the platform after any such update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
